Igniyte’s latest research into the blurring lines of personal and professional social media use has been featured in a Real Business article; ‘British workers don’t want to befriend colleagues – at least not on Facebook‘.
Igniyte’s study revealed that a massive 35% of UK employees wouldn’t accept their manager as a ‘friend’ on Facebook, and a further 15% wouldn’t accept any colleague on Facebook.
A quarter of those surveyed said they would think carefully before posting content online about how it could affect theirs or someone else’s professional reputation.
The Real Business article also quoted the finding that those working within the finance sector are the most judgemental of what they find online about an interviewer or interviewee, with 20% saying what they’d found had altered their judgement of that person.
The study coincides with the release of Igniyte’s latest guide, Protecting Your Company’s Reputation From Employee Risk, which you can download for free here.
