If it begins to rank on the first page, not only can this help to push any negative comments down but it provides another channel for people to contact you through.

Tweeting regularly will help your Twitter profile to rank higher. Make sure to tweet at least once a day, though tweeting multiple times a day is much better. However, make sure your tweets are relevant and necessary and always keep it professional, especially if you are representing your company. Also, whilst tweeting regularly is good, don’t tweet too much unless it is necessary, people will probably pay less attention if you tweet too much.

Whether you are an individual or a company, try to limit the self-promoting tweets. If all your tweets are about you, or your company and services, then people won’t pay as much attention to them. Instead you need to find a balance between informative or interactive tweets and self-promoting tweets. Keep the latter to a minimum. Always keep the potential target audience in mind when you are tweeting. Consider appropriate tone and language, and tweet accordingly.

If you want to get involved with Twitter, you need followers and you need to find people to follow. At first, it may be a good idea to follow people or companies that are relevant to your industry. You might also follow local or regional profiles, such as a local news or radio profile. As you follow people and tweet regularly, you will find that you gain followers, however don’t follow too many people all at once, try to keep a balance between how many people you follow to how many followers you have at first.
